The code 'AI2XXX' is being used for all Vistara flights operated by Air India after the merger, to help passengers identify the flight at the time of booking. The integration of Vistara with Tata Group company Air India marks a major consolidation in the country's civil aviation sector.
Vistara is a joint venture between the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines. After the merger, Singapore Airlines' stake in the Air India-Vistara combined entity will be 25.1 percent. Both airlines had announced in November 2022 that starting September 2024, customers would gradually lose the ability to book flights with Vistara for travel dates beyond November 12, 2024.
