BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said, “They (Awami League) have become politically bankrupt. So trying to come back in different ways, trying to create an atmosphere.'
He said this to reporters after the BNP's meeting with Singapore's non-resident High Commissioner Derek Lowe at the party's chairperson's office in the capital's Gulshan on Sunday morning.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir led the meeting on behalf of the party.
Amir Khosru said in response to the questions of the journalists regarding the gathering of Awami League on Noor Hussain Day, 'When the people of the country expel you, you want to come to cover each time.'
Questioning the party's activities, he said, 'Why should the Awami League come in the guise of Trump? Why did they reach this state as a political power? We repeat, they are now trying to come to different corners after bankruptcy.'
He said, 'They (Awami League) have to come back on their own. But they don't have that courage. They have lost that courage. In fact, their existence has disappeared, it is their political misery. The fact that they are politically destroyed is proof of that.'
At that time, when asked about BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's going abroad, Amir Khosru said, 'Some processes are pending, due to which Khaleda Zia's going abroad is being delayed. He will be sent abroad for treatment only after the procedures are completed. Expecting the processes to be completed in a short time.'
Regarding the meeting with the non-resident High Commissioner of Singapore, this BNP leader said that the issues related to the interests of the two countries were discussed in the meeting. There was discussion about sending skilled manpower. There was discussion about sending specially educated nurses.
BNP Chairperson Advisory Council Member Enamul Haque Chowdhury and International Affairs Committee Member Shama Obaid also participated in the meeting.
