Food inflation rose to 12.66 percent in October


Both the country's food inflation and price inflation rose in October compared to September. Food price inflation rose to 12.66 percent in October. In September, this rate was 10.40 percent.

On the other hand, headline inflation rose to double digits last month compared to single digits in September. Headline inflation rose to 10.87 percent in October from 9.92 percent in September.

Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) released this information on inflation on Thursday (November 7).

However, non-food inflation declined slightly from 9.5 percent in September to 9.34 percent in October.

Earlier, the country's overall inflation was 10.49 percent in August. In other words, inflation increased again in October after decreasing in September.

And last July, general inflation at the national level in the country was the highest in 12 years. Inflation on a point-to-point basis was 11.66 percent in that month.
