Secretary General of the party Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that BNP will carry out a strong movement to protect the sovereignty of the country. He said this after paying his respects at the tomb of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at Shere-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Thursday. The party is celebrating today as revolution and solidarity day.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “On this day, the sepoys defeated the hegemony and their allies for the second time. Those who wanted to destroy the independence and sovereignty of the country defeated them and brought President Ziaur Rahman to the fore. After that a new political beginning was made in Bangladesh. That politics was the politics of nationalism in Bangladesh, that politics was the politics of independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh, that politics was the politics of establishing democracy by defeating hegemony. Today we have taken an oath, we will stop hegemony with the students. I will build a stronger movement to protect sovereignty.'
Three months of the interim government have been completed. When asked whether they have taken any effective action or not, Mirza Fakhrul said, 'Of course, of course, of course. They (interim government) have done many things. We believe that if we all cooperate with them and are able to give a logical election at the appropriate time, then the challenges that are facing this nation will be met.
He said, 'The previous fascist government has conspired and tortured in various ways to destroy BNP. This Awami League has harassed about 60 lakh people with false cases. Wanted to establish fascism by disappearing 600 people, killing thousands of people.
