Donald Trump has confirmed his way back to the White House. But he is not officially president yet. It will take more than two months for him to return to the Oval Office. The British media reported the news.
The devolution process in the US is quite different from that in the UK. In July, Sir Keir Starmer was appointed Prime Minister within hours of the election results. By that time Rishi Sunak could not even pack his belongings.
But on the other side of the Atlantic in the United States, the entire process takes much longer to complete.
Trump's inauguration will not happen before January 20. Joe Biden will remain in power until Trump's inauguration. However, he can operate with very limited powers politically.
After four years out of the White House, Donald Trump is about to return with the votes of millions of Americans. Outside of the presidential election, Republicans took control of Senate seats in West Virginia, Ohio and Montana. Earlier they were held by Democrats.
Some seats in the House of Representatives are yet to be decided. But according to CBS News, control of the House is also leaning toward Republicans. If successful, after Trump is sworn in in January, Republicans would hold control of the House, Senate and White House together.
All in all, after a hotly contested campaign, the Republicans look likely to win outright.
