Barca came into Belgrade with two changes after beating Espanyol 3-1 in the La Liga derby last Sunday. Dutch midfielder Frankie de Young made his first XI since recovering from an ankle injury.
It took only 13 minutes for the Spanish team to open the scoring. Rafinha's free kick was headed into the net by defender Inigo Martinez standing in front of the goal post. After 14 minutes, Silas Katompa-Mvumpa equalized after Barca avoided an offensive offside trap from a counter attack.
