Barcelona's goal festival again in the Champions League


Barcelona started the Champions League with a defeat at Monaco. They did not take time to overcome that disappointment. Hansi Flick's team is winning one after another on the stage of Europe's best. The Catalan giants won 5-2 at Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday.

They scored 14 goals in the last three matches in the Champions League. And all competitions in six consecutive wins 24 goals! This includes the success of beating Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

With 9 points from four matches, Barca moved up to sixth place in the 36-team Champions League table. 35th Red Star with no further points.

Barca came into Belgrade with two changes after beating Espanyol 3-1 in the La Liga derby last Sunday. Dutch midfielder Frankie de Young made his first XI since recovering from an ankle injury.

It took only 13 minutes for the Spanish team to open the scoring. Rafinha's free kick was headed into the net by defender Inigo Martinez standing in front of the goal post. After 14 minutes, Silas Katompa-Mvumpa equalized after Barca avoided an offensive offside trap from a counter attack.

Barca did not give up. Continue to play with an aggressive mindset. After creating several chances, Robert Lewandowski shook the net when Rafinha's shot hit the post in the 43rd minute. In the eighth minute of the second half, Barca increased the lead with the Polish striker's first strike from Jules Konde's cross.

Conde also made Rafinha the fourth goal of Barca. The French fullback added his third assist in the 76th minute. He made Fermin Lopez an easy goal. Substitute Millson netted a goal for the hosts to cut the gap to three.

Barca has become the best offensive team in this season's Champions League with 15 goals in four matches. In addition, Rafinha and Lewandowski sit alongside Bayern Munich's Harry Kane and Sporting's Victor Giokeres as the tournament's top goalscorer with five goals apiece.
