Revolution and Solidarity Day today, program of BNP

Historical Revolution and Solidarity Day is November 7. This day is very significant in the politics of Bangladesh. On this day in 1975, the historic revolution of Sepoy-Janata took place, which changed the course of the country's politics at that time and anointed the country and the nation with a new identity.

After Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's family was killed on August 15, 1975, Major General Ziaur Rahman became the Army Chief. Then Zia was put under house arrest in a military coup led by Khaled Musharraf, one of the sector commanders of the liberation war. Later on November 7, 1975, he was freed from the captivity of Dhaka Cantonment in a counter-coup. After that he came to the center of power.

According to political analysts, after this revolution, the independence and sovereignty of the country became stronger under the leadership of President Zia. Democracy moves forward on the path of progress without hindrance, from this day the journey of multi-party democracy begins. People feel relieved.

BNP could not celebrate the day comfortably during Awami regime. There have been many attempts to erase Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam from history as the herald of freedom. This time the team has taken all kinds of initiatives to celebrate the day with due dignity. 10 days program announced.

On the occasion of the day, at 11 o'clock on this day at the shrine of martyred President Ziaur Rahman in Sherebangla Nagar of the capital, BNP will pay tribute and recite Fateha. Besides, a discussion meeting was held in the capital yesterday. The party is preparing to hold a huge rally in the capital on Friday. BNP leaders say that this will be the best rally ever in the history of the country.

Following the assassination of August 15, 1975 and the killing of four national leaders in Dhaka Central Jail on November 3, the then Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Brigadier General Khaled Musharraf, along with his followers, imprisoned Major General Ziaur Rahman in Dhaka Cantonment through a coup d'état. With a self-proclaimed promotion, Khaled Musharraf held the badge of Major General and occupied the post of Army Chief.

On November 6, Khaled Musharraf went to Bangabhaban and announced the arrest of the then president Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed and the dissolution of the cabinet and the dissolution of the national parliament. On the same day, he installed Chief Justice Abu Sadat Mohammad Sayem as the country's president. At one stage, on the late night of November 6, the general sepoys of the army united and formed resistance. People from all walks of life took to the streets in spontaneous support of that coup.

Ziaur Rahman was freed from the condition of imprisonment in the revolution of sepoys and people. Khaled Musharraf and some of his followers lost their lives trying to prevent a counter-coup. The next day, on November 7, soldiers and people from all ranks collectively descended on the streets of Dhaka, spreading across the country. An unprecedented example of solidarity was created in the country's politics. Since then 7 November is celebrated as 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day'. During the BNP government, this day was a public holiday.

In a statement on the occasion of the day, BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman said, November 7 is a historic and unforgettable day of national life. On this day in 1975, strong in patriotism, the sepoys came down on the streets with an unprecedented pledge to protect national independence and revive the lost democracy. Therefore, the historical revolution of November 7 is very significant.

He said, in the spirit of November 7, it is very important to unite all nationalist forces to prevent the path of democracy and protect national independence and sovereignty.

In a separate message, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “On this great day, I call upon all the people of the country – the final transition of the country's democratic system has not yet taken place.” Free and fair elections, civil liberties and democratic spirit should be developed in every sector of the state. After August 5, the countrymen breathed a sigh of relief, but there is still a lot of work to be done. National and international conspiracies have not stopped yet. Kuchkri Mahal is always active to bring down the country called Bangladesh. Therefore, with the spirit in which we united on November 7, 1975 to protect freedom and sovereignty, we must work together to ensure multi-party democracy, the benefits of freedom, economic freedom, peace and order, equality, justice and human dignity. will be
