Bangladesh's first setback in the Afghanistan series was the absence of Nahid Rana and Nasum Ahmed, two of the team's cricketers. 13 cricketers and coaching staff of the team arrived in the United Arab Emirates in two parts last Saturday and Sunday. But Nahid and Nasum could not go with the team due to visa complications. Bangladesh finally got good news. They are also going to Emirates tomorrow.
Due to the absence of two cricketers, Bangladesh coach Phil Simmons may have struggled to prepare the team for the first ODI against Afghanistan in Sharjah today. There are no two cricketers in the 15-man squad. The eleventh had to be arranged from 13 people.
According to BCB sources, Naheed and Nasum will leave for Emirates tomorrow at 10 am on Emirates Airlines flight. They will be available for the second one-dayer next Saturday.
Shakib Al Hasan will not be in the Afghanistan series, one thing was already certain. The selectors therefore kept Nasum in the team as a left-arm spinner. This left-arm spinner has 12 wickets at 4.53 economy in 15 ODIs.
Tanjim Hasan Shakib is injured for the first time Nahid got a chance in the ODI team. Although he has to reach the Emirates through a lot of hurdles before his debut.
