That's where the Democrats went wrong

As in 2016, former US President Donald Trump returned with power. Meanwhile, the huge gap between Kamla Harris's team and the tide of enthusiasm has been proved by the results. Not only that, their estimates about the field level campaign were also exaggerated.

It is a classic fact that the candidate of the 'day change' party eventually wins the election. The same happened this time. Democrats have always sought to address voter discontent with the status quo. They have failed to campaign to 'bring the country on the right track'. So, they asked people to choose 'Janashona Mandkei'. And it has proven to be weaker than the day-changing message. It always is.

The Republicans reaped the benefits of the Electoral College system of US elections. This means that even if the Democrats were ahead in the popular vote, the Republicans would have won. That's what happened.

It was clear from the survey that the popular vote will be a tough fight. Trump's victory in the important states of North Carolina and Georgia was close to him. As a result, Kamala Harris had to rely only on the three swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. But in the latest vote count, Trump's victory is certain in these states as well.

Democrats were growing more confident as Election Day approached. But why? According to Daniel Finkelstein, associate editor of the Times of London and British lawmaker, there are two reasons for this. First, there was a disparity in motivation between Democrat and Republican voters.

In an article in the Times, she wrote, Democrats, in particular, thought women voters would revolt against tougher abortion rights laws and dislike Trump's 'macho' or 'baggy' characterization.

Daniel Finkelstein said there will be plenty of time ahead for the review. However, looking at the initial situation, it can be said that the belief that Kamala had in the enthusiasm of women, did not happen in reality. The same thing happened with Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Another thing they were very optimistic about was that their 'advanced' campaign at the field level (door-to-door canvassing) would prove decisive in the elections. Maybe they overestimated their advantage. Or maybe they made a big mistake as to whether it was an effective strategy at all.

But whatever the case, it's champagne time. That's why everyone will run to the Trump camp. Democrats will not head to headquarters.
