Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, 'There was a shadow of dark clouds in the sky of our country for 15 and a half years. The cloud has not cleared. We all feel it as conscious citizens. National unity is very much needed at this time. This is not the time for division. This is not the time to look after personal interests. This is not the time to look at party interests. Let us understand this, let us obey.'
He said these things at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Amir Nurul Islam Bulbul of Dhaka Metropolitan South at the Diploma Engineers Auditorium in Kakrail in the capital on Friday.
