If the Land Registration Office is brought under the Ministry of Lands from the Ministry of Law, the corruption related to services will be reduced to a great extent and the people will be freed from harassment.
Advisor to the Ministry of Lands, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives AF Hasan Arif said this in a seminar organized at Bhumi Bhavan.
The advisor said, due to the inaction and harassment of a class of middlemen in the land office and land registry office at the field level, land citizen services are being disrupted. Digitization of land services is progressing. However, citizens who are backward in technology are having a little trouble in receiving services. To overcome this problem, training programs are being implemented for the citizens as well as increasing the awareness and skills of land service providers through various training techniques.
ASM Saleh Ahmed, senior land secretary of the Ministry of Lands, said that if the digital land survey work is started, the civil service will be ensured by stopping the land related cases and disputes. In the light of the thoughtful suggestions of the media workers who participated in the workshop, the Ministry of Land will work to adopt more people-friendly land management strategies.
Various journalists participating in the seminar were shown around the land citizen service activities. Later, a workshop was held on the overall activities of the Board and future work organized by the Land Advisor, Land Reforms Board. Chairman of the Land Reform Board. Abdus Sabur Mandal, Director General of Land Records and Survey Directorate Moniruzzaman along with senior officials of Land Ministry and Land Building were present.
