Bangladesh Election, 'Reforms and elections are not possible in Bangladesh without Awami League', claims Hasina's son – Bangladesh elections are not possible without Awami League says Sheikh Hasina son Sheikh Wazed Joy

Sheikh Hasina's son Sheikh Wazed Joy said that without Awami League, real reforms and elections are not possible in Bangladesh. Jai said this in the wake of what Bangladesh army chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman and interim government chief adviser Muhammad Yunus said. Elections in Bangladesh can be held after one and a half years, army chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman said. On the other hand, elections will be held only after Bangladesh reforms in various fields and voter list is prepared, said Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser of the interim government. He also said that the reforms will be discussed with the political parties. The discussion on this reform is not possible without the Awami League, said Jai.

Joy claims, 'Real reforms and elections are not possible in Bangladesh without the Awami League.' Bangladesh army chief said full support will be given to Yunus government for reforms. He said in an interview to Reuters that an indication of when the elections could be held there. Jai said that the one and a half years that the army chief had said was more than he had expected.

In an interview given to Reuters, he said that real reforms and elections are not possible in Bangladesh without the Awami League. Joy also said that he is happy to know when the election can be held. However, he has not been contacted by the interim government and he has also not contacted the government, Jai said.

He told Reuters, 'Whether or not to negotiate with Awami League or when the elections will be held, that decision depends on the government. Bangladesh is talking about reforms in various fields. But legitimate reforms and elections are impossible without the country's oldest and largest political party.'

He also said that Awami League wants to contest the elections. Along with this, Joy also told when Hasina can return to Bangladesh. He said Hasina is ready to face trial in Bangladesh. Joy said, 'When Hasina will return to the country depends on her.' Joy also said that now he wants to keep his party leaders and workers safe.

On the other hand, Yunus met with Kristalina Georgieva, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, on the sidelines of the United Nations session. There he said that the date of election will be announced once the consensus is reached on the reforms and the voter list is prepared. Yunus also said that discussions will be held with the political parties after receiving the recommendations of the commission formed for this purpose.
