Abu Jahl is one of the enemies of Islam. His father's name is Hisham Ibnul Mughira. Hisham was a pagan. Hisham passed away before receiving the prophethood of Rasulullah (SAW).
Asma bint Mukharraba's first marriage was with Hisham Ibn Mugheera. Two sons were born in this husband's house. One is Abu Jahl, another is Al-Harith. (Tabaqat Ibn Saad: 8/209)
One of Asma's two sons was Abu Jahl, one of the enemies of Islam, whom Rasulullah referred to as 'Pharaoh of my Ummah'. (Musnad Ahmad: 6/375)
His other son Al-Harith ibn Hisham was a companion of the Prophet. But at first he was also opposed to Islam like his brother. He fought against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the Battle of Badr and Uhud. After the conquest of Makkah, Harith Ibn Hisham accepted Islam and gained the status of a Sahabi. After that he took part in almost all the wars for Islam till his death. (Date at-Tabari: 11/97)
