Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), the trade organization of the country's software and information technology services sector, will hold the election of the executive committee for the period 2024-26 on May 8. 33 candidates are competing to elect the 11-member executive council. Out of this, 8 people will be selected from General category and 1 person each from Associate, Affiliate and International category.
Basically, 33 candidates are competing in this election divided into three panels. These three panels are named 'Team Smart', 'One Team' and 'Team Success'.
Team Smart Panel is led by Advanced ERP. Mostafizur Rahman Sohail. Other candidates of Team Smart are Mohammad Risalat Siddiqui, Liaquat Hussain, Mir Shahrukh Islam, ASM Rafiq Ullah, Manjurul Alam, Syeda Naushad Jahan, Niaz Morshed and Arman Ahmed Khan (Associate) in General Category, Lutfi Haider Chowdhury (Affiliate) and A. HM Hasinul Quddus (International).
The 'One Team' panel has been formed under the leadership of Russell T Ahmed, the current president of BASIS. Other candidates of this panel are Uttam Kumar Pal, Didarul Alam, Rashidul Hasan, AKM Ahmedul Islam, Iqbal Ahmed Fakhrul Hasan, M Asif Rahman, KAM Rashedul Majeed and Syed Abdullah Zayed (Associate), Biblab Ghosh (Affiliate) in General category. ) and Syed Mohammad Kamal (International).
The 'Team Success' panel is led by Mustafa Rafiqul Islam of Flora Telecom. The other candidates of this panel are Taufiqul Karim in general category, Mohammad Aminullah, Md. Shahibur Rahman Khan, Farzana Kabir, Md. Shafiul Alam, Imran Hussain, Syeda Nafisa Reza and NM Rafsan Jani (Associate), Abdul Aziz (Affiliate) and Abu Muhammad Rashed Majid (International).
Basis election voting will be held at Gulshan Shooting Club in the capital on May 8 from 10 am to 5 pm.
The total number of voters in this election of BASIS is 1 thousand 464 people. Among them 932 voters in general category, 389 voters in associate category, 134 voters in affiliate category and 9 voters in international category.
