'President Murmu's congratulations are important for us', China praised; Galvan Valley was also mentioned


China on Tuesday said it considers as 'significant' the letter written by Indian President Draupadi Murmu to her Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on the 75th anniversary of the founding of Communist China (PRC). He also said that China is willing to jointly promote the strong and stable development of bilateral relations.

“It is important that we work towards peaceful and stable relations between our two countries,” President Murmu said in a letter to Xi on September 27, the 75th anniversary of the founding of communist China. Responding in this regard, spokesperson Mao Ning said, “China attaches importance to President Murmu's remarks on China-India relations.” In response to a question from reporters, he said, “We appreciate President Murmu's letter.” Appreciate it from your side.

Mao said, “We are ready to enhance communication with India, enhance mutual trust and jointly promote the strong and stable development of China-India relations.” Asked about progress in talks, Mao said, “China and India maintain close communication through diplomatic and military means on issues related to the border areas, and the two countries have agreed to the situation in the western region, including the Galwan Valley.” Troops have been withdrawn from four areas of the China-India border.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson said that at present the situation on the India-China border is overall stable. “At the recently held 31st meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) on China-India Border Affairs, both sides further narrowed down differences, enhanced common understanding and resolved to find an early solution to the border situation,” he said.
