Grameenphone's startup innovation platform GP Accelerator started a bootcamp titled 'Zillay Zillay Smart Entrepreneurs' to develop the potential of young entrepreneurs. The initiative is mainly to harness the innovative power of university students and potential young entrepreneurs. The boot camp started from Mymensingh on Saturday (April 27).
According to Grameenphone, about 300 entrepreneurs participated in the bootcamp. This regional bootcamp will be organized step by step in 20 regions across the country. The program was divided into two parts. In the first part of the day, detailed training on the art of design thinking, i.e. what is design thinking, what are its steps, product testing, how to do market research, how to do financial modeling, how to make a pitch deck for investment — these topics. The final phase of the bootcamp i.e. the second phase organized an idea pitching competition where local entrepreneurs pitched various ideas. In this, local problem solving is given utmost importance.
At the event, Grameenphone Environment, Social and Governance Head Farhana Islam said, Grameenphone is determined to build social empowerment and an inclusive, smart and knowledge-based economy. In continuation of this, GP Accelerator's Regional Bootcamp will play a significant role in building the startup ecosystem in the country and empowering young entrepreneurs.
He also said that the youth are the driving force of the country. There is no alternative to developing the talent and skills of the youth to build a smart Bangladesh in 2041. From this program, young people will be able to take the necessary education and present their innovative ideas in front of everyone, which we believe will contribute to the implementation of the Smart Bangladesh vision in addition to acquiring the necessary skills.
Note that GP Accelerator has been making a significant contribution to the country's startup sector since its launch in 2015. It has created employment opportunities for 5 lakh people through 50 startups. At the same time GP Accelerator is playing a special role in the economic growth of the country.
