Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah strongly condemned the grenade attack in Srinagar's Sunday market in which 11 people were injured. He said that the security apparatus should make every possible effort to stop the increasing number of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
Two women were also injured in the attack when terrorists lobbed a grenade in a crowded market near a CRPF bunker. In recent days, reports of attacks and encounters have emerged in various parts of the valley, Abdullah said in a post on Twitter. Today, the news of grenade attack on innocent shoppers in Srinagar's Sunday market is extremely worrying. There can be no justification for targeting innocent civilians.
The security system should make every possible effort to end these series of attacks so that people can live their lives normally without any fear. Congress' Jammu and Kashmir unit chief swimmer Hameed Karra also condemned the grenade attack. He said, it is deeply saddened to know about this unfortunate and terrible incident of grenade attack on shopkeepers. He requested the Jammu and Kashmir Police to take effective steps to stop such brutal and inhuman attacks, so that the public can move freely without any fear. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
