Tasmiya from Dhaka gave an excellent performance at Ramlila in Delhi

Ramlila at the Red Fort in Delhi, the capital of India. And a young woman from Bangladesh stood out by participating in the Ramlila dance. The young woman's name is Tasmia Hossain, a resident of Moghbazar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Studied at Delhi University. The director-turned-event manager was impressed with her dance performance as Maa Kali in Ramlila.

At the end of her school life, Tasmia moved from Dhaka to Delhi for higher education. Along with studies, Kathak training continues. About acting in Ramlila, the Bangladeshi girl said that it was 11 days of work. I enjoyed a lot. Had to come for rehearsal in the morning. The final take was on stage at noon. Then there was the show. Great experience.

Having grown up in a different religious culture, Tasmia had no problem acting in Ramleela, she said, “I believe in secularism.” go to church Go to the temple. go to mosque I can learn something new. I was very excited about this. I also learned many mythological stories for a particular part of the dance.

Tasmiya rocked the stage sometimes as Maa Kali and sometimes in other forms. He said, “When I was first asked to dance the role of Maa Kali, I thought I could do it.” Because, in order to take the form of Maa Kali, one has to show the image of anger on the face. But, I was overwhelmed by the way everyone applauded after performing.

Ramlila director Anishesh Sharma said, legend has it that King Akbar started Ramlila with the inspiration of Tulsidas. He loved listening to the doha of Tulsidas. He loved art. He did not allow the wall of religious barriers to be raised there.

Event Manager Anushka Pandit is impressed with Tasmia. He said, “I see a little insecurity among those who come from a different background.” But I have not seen that in Tasmia at all. She was fluent while dancing. Which is very important to feel from the heart of an artist. Tasmia didn't realize that she came from a completely different culture.
