From today i.e. from November 1, 2024, advance booking of railway tickets will now be possible up to 60 days in advance. Earlier this facility was available till 120 days ago. At the same time, a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has become costlier by Rs 62. Now it will be available for Rs 1802 in Delhi.
Apart from this, under the message traceability rule, telecom companies will identify suspicious or fake numbers and immediately block them, so that messages from these numbers will not be able to reach the users. This will provide security to the users.
5 changes that will happen in the month of November…
1. Commercial gas cylinder becomes expensive: Price increased by Rs 62, no change in the prices of domestic cylinder.
From today, a 19 kg commercial cylinder has become costlier by Rs 62. Its price in Delhi increased by Rs 62 to ₹ 1802. Earlier it was available for ₹ 1740. In Kolkata, it is available at ₹1911.50, an increase of Rs 61, earlier its price was ₹1850.50.
In Mumbai, the cylinder price has increased by Rs 62 from Rs 16.92.50 to Rs 1754.50. Cylinder is available for Rs 1964.50 in Chennai. However, there is no change in the prices of 14.2 KG domestic gas cylinder. It is available for ₹ 803 in Delhi and ₹ 802.50 in Mumbai.
2. Advance booking of railway tickets: Now booking 60 days in advance, earlier the time was 120 days.
Indian Railways has changed the rules of advance ticket booking. Earlier, ticket booking used to start 120 days before the journey, now it has been reduced to 60 days. According to the Railway Ministry, the new rules for advance train ticket booking will not have any impact on already booked tickets. Also, there has been no change in the deadline of 365 days for foreign tourists.

3. UPI Lite limit increased: ₹1000 can be transferred at a time
From today, Unified Payments Interface Lite (UPI Lite) users will be able to make more payments. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has increased the transaction limit of UPI Lite from ₹500 to ₹1000. Along with this, the limit of UPI Light Wallet has also been increased from ₹ 2000 to ₹ 5000. At the same time, for feature phone users, RBI has increased the limit of UPI 123 from ₹ 5000 to ₹ 10,000.
Additionally, from today onwards, if your UPI Lite balance goes below a certain limit, the money will be added back to UPI Lite through the new auto top-up feature. With this, there will be no need to do manual top-up and with the help of UPI Lite, payment can be made without any interruption.
4. Message traceability rules implemented: Fake numbers will be identified and blocked immediately.
The new rules of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) regarding spam calls and messages will come into effect from today. Under the message traceability rule, telecom companies will identify suspicious or fake numbers and immediately block them, so that messages from these numbers will not be able to reach the users. This will provide security to the users. The government has instructed telecom companies to implement message tracking from November 1.
What are spam calls or messages? Spam calls or messages are calls or messages made to people from unknown numbers. In which people are tricked into taking a loan, taking a credit card, winning a lottery, or purchasing any service or product from a company. All these calls or messages are made without your permission.
5. ATF expensive up to Rs 2,992: Air travel can become expensive
Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of Air Traffic Fuel (ATF) in metros. This can make air travel expensive. According to the website of Indian Oil, ATF in Delhi has become costlier by Rs 2,941.5 to Rs 90,538.72 per kiloliter (1000 litres). At the same time, ATF in Kolkata has become costlier by Rs 2,781.99 to Rs 93,392.79 per kilolitre.
In Mumbai, ATF was available at Rs 81,866.13 per kilolitre, now it will become costlier by Rs 2,776.78 and will be available at Rs 84,642.91 per kilolitre. ATF price in Chennai has increased by Rs 2,992.67. It is now available at Rs 93,957.10 per kilolitre.
No change in petrol and diesel prices: Petrol in Delhi Rs 94.72 per liter
There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel even today i.e. on 1st October. At present, petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 94.72 per liter while diesel is being sold at Rs 87.62 per litre. Whereas in Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 103.44 and diesel at Rs 89.97 per litre.
