There are many discussions and criticisms about this. Now the interim government has withdrawn from that decision. The advisory council has decided that a candidate can participate in the BCS exam a maximum of four times.

It is informed that, in the light of the Upper Age Limit Ordinance, 2024 for direct recruitment in Government, Autonomous, Semi-Autonomous, Statutory Government Authorities, Public Non-Financial Corporations including Self-Governing Organizations, Section-59 of the 'Government Employment Act, 2018'- Under this authority, the Ministry of Public Administration has restructured the 'Bangladesh Civil Service (Examination for Age, Eligibility and Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2014', a candidate can participate in the Bangladesh Civil Service examination a maximum of four times – the Advisory Council has given instructions to the Ministry of Public Administration regarding the addition of such rules.
