When the batsman scored a double century while standing on one leg, remember the date and you will remember the picture.

New DelhiDates will come and go, players will come and go on the field, but there is one thing that will remain constant and that is the history made on that date. Many histories have been made on the cricket field as well due to which the date on which a great feat was accomplished became immortal. A similar history was created on 7 November 2023 also. Mumbai's Wankhede ground, World Cup match and Australia and Afghanistan facing each other. What happened in this match had never happened before. An incident which left batsmen like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in shock.

For the first time a batsman scored a double century while chasing the target. Glenn Maxwell was the one to accomplish this feat. The important thing was that Maxwell scored half the runs of his innings while standing on one leg. Glenn Maxwell first fielded 50 overs, also bowled and then batted for about 3 hours in the heat of Mumbai. What was even more surprising was that he was not completely fit and was not able to run. Standing at one end, he was dealing only in fours and sixes.

Maxwell's magic is still remembered

Even after a year, people still remember Maxwell's magic for many reasons. Maxwell, who came to bat at number 6, had lost 7 wickets at 100 runs and had a target like a mountain in front of him. A partnership of 202 runs for the eighth wicket was made with Pat Cummins, who scored only 12 runs in the entire innings. Maxwell was successful in playing an unbeaten inning of 201 runs in 128 balls with the help of 21 fours and 10 sixes and he single-handedly took his team to the semi-finals.

Batting on one leg after 33rd over

Glenn Maxwell had leg cramps after completing his century on the second ball of the 33rd over. Glenn Maxwell, who fell on the field, was groaning in pain, but he did not leave the team. After this, the physio team came to the field twice, struggling, groaning and shouting, Maxwell did not stop and kept scoring runs. Due to the circumstances in which Maxwell scored his double century, experts have declared this innings to be the greatest innings of all time.
