The cricketer who was forced to retire by England in July, has now turned to the Indian T20 League. 42 year old James Anderson has kept his base price at Rs 1.25 crore for the IPL auction to be held in Jeddah.

James Anderson played his last international match against West Indies in July this year. Anderson, who took 704 wickets in Test cricket, wanted to play further also. But the English Cricket Board made it clear that it wants to give a chance to new bowlers. After this James Anderson announced his retirement.

Last T20 International match played in 2009
Anderson, who played his last T20 International match in 2009, told 'BBC Radio 4 Today' in a podcast, 'There is still something inside me that feels that I can still play. I have never played IPL. I have never experienced this. For many reasons I feel I have a lot to offer as a player.

Jimmy has worked as a mentor
James Anderson said that he wants to increase his knowledge as a bowler by playing in the world's biggest T20 league. Anderson said, 'I have done a little coaching after finishing my career. I am also working as a 'mentor' to some extent with the England team. I think that playing in such a league and gaining experience might help me in increasing my knowledge about the game which will benefit me in the future.

Anderson last played a T20 match for his county team Lancashire in August 2014. James Anderson is the third highest Test wicket taker after Sri Lanka's legendary Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Australia's Shane Warne (708). (input language)
