HCL co-founder Shiv Nadar has donated Rs 2,153 crore in FY 2024. In daily terms it is Rs 5.90 crore. Edelgive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2024 was released on Thursday.

Nadar family is at the top in this. After him is the chairman of Reliance Industry, he donated Rs 407 crore.

Top 10 donors donated Rs 4,625 crore

  • The top 10 individuals in the list of donors together contributed Rs 4,625 crore in the financial year 2024, which is about 53% of the total donations in the list.
  • In this list, Krishna Chivukula and Susmita and Subroto Bagchi have secured 7th and 9th position. This is his first entry in the top 10 list.
  • Six of the top 10 donors focus their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) primarily on education.
  • Bajaj family has secured the third position in the list by donating Rs 352 crore. This is 33% more than 2023.

Vivek Vakil of Asian Paints is the youngest donor.

35 year old Vivek Vakil, associated with Asian Paints, is the youngest donor in the list. He has donated Rs 8 crore. At the same time, Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath (38), who was the youngest donor last year (2023), has come at third place this year. Nikhil, along with his brother and Zerodha CEO Nitin Kamath (45), donated Rs 120 crore.

That means he donated Rs 5.6 crore every day. He is followed by Wipro founder-chairman Azim Premji, who donated Rs 1,774 crore.
