Sheikh Hasina's government fell on August 5 in a student coup. Since then he is staying in India.
Congratulating Donald Trump, Sheikh Hasina pointed out that this huge victory is proof of his extraordinary leadership qualities and a reflection of the deep faith the American people have placed in him.
Sheikh Hasina recalled her various meetings and interviews with Donald J. Trump and Melania Trump during her first presidency as Prime Minister.
He expressed hope that the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United States will be strengthened under his second presidency. He expressed commitment to work together to advance the bilateral and multilateral interests of both countries.
Sheikh Hasina wished the newly elected US President and his family good health, longevity and happiness and wished the people of the United States lasting peace, progress and prosperity.
