The national selection committee will be keeping an eye on KL Rahul's batting and current form in the second unofficial Test match between India A and Australia A starting on Thursday. Barring Rahul, there is no player in the India A line-up who has played at the MCG. India has to play the 'Boxing Day' Test in Melbourne from 26 December. On the advice of the team management, the Indian selectors decided to send Rahul, who was dropped midway through the home Test against New Zealand, and reserve wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel for the second A Test in Perth before joining the senior team.
