The door of a Kuwait Airways plane broke at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. The plane was a Boeing 777-300 model. This incident happened when the bridge-6 of the boarding plane suddenly came down at 2:20 pm on Tuesday night. The plane was supposed to leave Dhaka for Kuwait with 284 passengers at 3:30 am.
According to sources at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Kuwait Airways flight KU-283 landed in Dhaka with passengers from Kuwait at 1:30 am. The doors were smashed right after the passengers disembarked from the flight. Only the pilot and cabin crew were inside the plane when the door collapsed. The captain of that flight was Azbali Mohammad, a citizen of Kuwait.
It is known that usually when there are passengers or cargo on the plane, the position of the plane is slightly pressed down. When the load of the plane is reduced after the passengers disembark, the plane rises slightly. After the passengers of this flight got off, the plane went up slightly but the boarding bridge was down, so the plane's door completely broke off on contact with the bridge. With normal planes there is a gap in the boarding bridge. The boarding bridge was attached to this plane, there was no space in between.
According to Kuwait Airways sources, Kuwait-bound passengers are staying in the waiting lounge of the airport due to broken doors. Arrangements are being made to send them to the hotel from the airport. Another Kuwaiti flight will arrive in Dhaka to pick them up. Apart from this, those who had connecting flights from Kuwait will be sent to their respective destinations free of charge.
