Two days before the presidential elections in America, a squirrel has become a topic of discussion in the election campaign. Actually, the squirrel named 'Peanut', which went viral on social media, was killed by the authorities in New York on Saturday (November 2). According to The Guardian report, the squirrel was caught during a raid on its owner's house.
Authorities had received multiple complaints that a man named Mark Longo had kept a squirrel and a raccoon. Symptoms of disease like rabies have been seen in these animals. After repeated complaints, officials raided Mark's house on October 30.

He keeps posting many of her pictures and videos on social media, where he has around 5 lakh followers. After Peanut's death, Mark has decided to raise his voice against this issue. He has also run a campaign named Justice for Peanut.
Mark also opened a Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary in Peanut's name in April 2023. There are now 300 animals living in this sanctuary, which include horses, goats and many other animals.
