'The main task of the interim government is to remove the daily problems of the people'

BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan said that the main task of the interim government is to eliminate the daily problems of the people.

He made this comment at the memorial meeting organized by Democratic League (DL) and Oli Ahad Smriti Sangsad on the occasion of the 12th death anniversary of Sipahsalar and national leader of the language movement at Abdus Salam Hall of Jatiya Press Club on Saturday (October 26).

Nazrul Islam Khan said, we are going through a critical period. Fascism fell in the student-mass movement in July-August, the final stage of a long 16-year long struggle. The dictator has fled. An interim government has been established in the country with our support. The people's expectations from this government are clear in terms of the passion of this fight.

He said, our fight was for the downfall of fascism and the establishment of democracy. The main task of this government is to eliminate the daily problems of the people.

He also said that the reforms needed to build a democratic society are to establish the people's elected government in the country. People's rule must be in place so that the victory we have achieved is meaningful and the people can enjoy the fruits of victory permanently.

The memorial meeting was also attended by BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Moin Khan, President of Nagrik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna, General Secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Haque, Chief Coordinator of Mass Solidarity Movement, Jonaid Saki, Coordinator of Jatiyatabadi Sammana Jot Dr. Fariduzzaman Farhad, poet Abdul Hai Sikder, barrister Rumin Farhana, Jatiyatabadi Gontantrik Party (NGP) organizing secretary Mir Amir Hossain Amu and others.
