TikTok has removed 1 crore 21 lakh videos from Bangladesh


TikTok recently released its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the second quarter of this year. The report covers data from April to June. Content that violates the Community Guidelines is identified and removed.

The Bangladesh report notes that the level of content control has increased significantly. A total of 1 crore 21 lakh 58 thousand 745 videos were removed in the second quarter of 2024 which was 71 lakh 71 thousand 832 in the first quarter. Bangladesh has a proactive video removal rate of 99.6 percent where 97.2 percent of videos are removed within 24 hours.

A total of 178827465 videos were removed from TikTok worldwide this quarter, which is about 1.0 percent of all videos uploaded to the platform. Of these, 14.43 million 133 videos were identified and removed through automatic detection technology. Again 53 lakh 94 thousand 318 videos have been verified and put back on the platform. This time the active video removal rate was 98.2 percent with 93.5 percent of videos removed within 24 hours of posting.

According to the report, 31 percent of the deleted videos contained sensitive content that did not comply with TikTok's content policy. In addition, 15.1 percent of these videos violated the video platform's security standards and 4.7 percent of videos were removed for violating privacy and security guidelines.
