Samajwadi Party Leader Stealing Electricity Case Registered and Fined RS 54 Lakh in Sambhal


UP News: In Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, the electricity department has imposed a fine of Rs 54 lakh against the former district president of Samajwadi Party (SP) in the case of electricity theft. An official of the electricity department gave this information on Friday. The electricity department had filed a case of electricity theft against the former district president of Samajwadi Party (SP) on October 20.

Executive Engineer of Electricity Department of Sambhal, Naveen Gautam said that during investigation in Pakka Bagh of Hayatnagar on October 20, electricity theft was detected in the private office of Firoz Khan (former District President of SP). He said that a case was registered against Khan in the 'Anti Power Theft' police station under Section 135 of the Electricity Act 2003.

Gautam told that on the basis of the FIR registered against Firoz Khan in the theft case, a fine of Rs 54 lakh has been imposed. Investigation revealed that there was no meter installed at their place since 2012. There was no electricity connection and after approval of the investigation, a fine of Rs 54 lakh has been imposed on them. He said that its notice has been sent to them, in which they have been given 15 days time as per rules, during this period they can present their side.

Earlier on October 21, Firoz Khan had told 'PTI-Bhasha', “I have a generator installed at my place, the light comes from it.” Khan alleged, “These cases are being filed due to politics.” . This case has been filed to embarrass me.
