The leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens' Committee practically staged a sit-in at the door of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami this time to remove Mohammad Sahabuddin from the post of President. The dream of these two organizations is now to change Bangladesh and build a 'Second Republic'. According to sources, they could not convince the BNP until last night despite two meetings. They did not announce their decision until Saturday. However, it is reported that Jamaat-e-Islami has agreed to remove the president. In the meeting of the Interim Government last Thursday, it was decided that there is a need to build a political consensus on this very sensitive issue. Because, the BNP had already informed that they do not want to create a new constitutional crisis by dismissing the President 'at this moment'.

Despite the 'green' signal from the Jamaat, BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed said that although they share the same position with the students' demand for the removal of the President, they feel that a constitutional crisis is ahead.
