Iran will give a 'proportionate response' to the Israeli attack

After Iranian military installations were targeted, Tehran said it had the right to defend itself. Iranian state media claimed Saturday's (October 26) attack caused “limited” damage and killed two soldiers. The British media reported the news.

A semi-official Iranian news agency said Tehran would give a “proportionate response” to Israel's move.

And the official news agency IRNA reported that Iran's foreign ministry said, “Iran has the right to defend itself against Zionist attacks and will take mandatory defensive measures.”

However, US President Joe Biden hopes that the Israeli attack against Iran is over. Iranian military bases were attacked, not oil or nuclear facilities.

The Israeli military said it retaliated against Iran's missile attack on Israel on October 1, almost a month ago.

Israeli airstrikes hit Iran's missile production facilities, missile sites and bases in various regions. But they warned Iran that if Tehran retaliates, “they will have to pay a heavy price.”

In a statement, Iran confirmed the Israeli attack on military bases in Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam provinces.

However, Iranian state television also reported that air defenses were activated against Israeli strikes in response to the explosions in the capital.

Video released by Iranian media showed air defenses continuously firing Israeli projectiles in central Tehran.

Air traffic in Tehran was suspended as a result of the Israeli attack. However, they are resuming flight operations from Saturday morning.
