India China Border News: India and China have started withdrawal of troops from two friction points in Demchok and Depsang plains in eastern Ladakh and the process is likely to be completed by October 28-29. A few days ago, an agreement was reached between the two countries regarding withdrawal of troops and patrolling along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, which is a major success towards ending the standoff that has been going on for more than four years.

Patrolling will start on LAC

According to the report of news agency PTI, after the completion of the process of withdrawal of troops, patrolling will start at both the conflict points and both sides will withdraw their troops and destroy the temporary structures. It is being told that patrolling on LAC will also start by 31 October 2024. The withdrawal process of Indian and Chinese troops will be completed by 28-29 October.

There will be patrolling in this area of ​​Arunachal

The border conflict between India and China is not limited only to Ladakh, but the Yangtse area of ​​Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh has also been a place of dispute for both the countries. According to media reports, the mutual agreement reached between the two countries for patrolling also includes the Yangtse area of ​​Tawang district. It is being told that Chinese soldiers will be allowed to patrol this area.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi And Chinese President Xi Jinping, in his bilateral talks on October 23, 2024 on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, had supported the agreement regarding withdrawal of troops and patrolling along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. Referring to India's stand on the dispute in Eastern Ladakh, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had said in Kazan after the bilateral meeting that restoration of peace and tranquility in the border areas would pave the way for normalization of bilateral relations.
