Harshit Rana joins Test team for the first time, celebrates with 'four', can debut in Australia

New Delhi. Harshit Rana is an emerging fast bowler. This 22-year-old right-arm pacer got a place in the Indian Test team a day ago. Harshit celebrated it in a grand style. He took four wickets in the Ranji Trophy match against Assam at his home ground. This fast bowler from Delhi has got a place in the Test team for the first time. Harshit can debut on Australia tour. Team India's head coach Gautam Gambhir is impressed by the bowling of Harshit, who plays in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. Gambhir has a lot of expectations from this player.

Amidst Harshit's brilliant bowling and wicketkeeper batsman Sumit Ghadigaonkar's unbeaten 120 runs, Assam scored 264 runs for six wickets at stumps on the first day of the Group D Ranji Trophy match. Left-handed batsman Ghadigaonkar and experienced Sib Shankar Roy (59 runs) made a partnership of 164 runs for the fifth wicket. But after this Rana (four wickets for 62 runs in 15 overs) ended this partnership. But Delhi bowled at a very slow pace in which only 76 overs could be bowled in the day.

Culprits of defeat: 3 reasons… due to which Team India lost all four in its own home, otherwise we would have captured the test series.

Test series lost at home after 68 years, Sachin Tendulkar's reaction on Team India's defeat, no need for any visiting team…

Rana impressed with his bowling
Only Rana and debutant Mani Grewal (1 wicket for 42 runs) impressed in bowling. Whereas the other two fast bowlers Siddhant Sharma and Himanshu Chauhan could not trouble the other two in-form Assam batsmen. For Assam, Rishav Das (33 runs) and Danish Das (18 runs) added 51 runs for the third wicket. If Delhi wants to get a result in this match, then it will have to act fast on the second day.

Harshit Rana's cricket career
Harshit Rana, born on 22 December 2001 in New Delhi, has taken 36 wickets in 9 first class matches. In List A, he has taken 22 wickets in 14 matches while he has 28 wickets in his name in 25 T20 matches. Harshit took 19 wickets in 13 matches for KKR in IPL 2024.
