This government has no right to declare Chhatra League illegal: Nanak

Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak has commented that the interim government has no right to declare Chhatra League illegal. He said this while coming live from his verified page on Thursday (October 24) around 8:30 pm.

Jahangir Kabir Nanak has been in hiding since the fall of the Awami League government. He came forward for the first time on Thursday. He spoke on Facebook Live for about 11 minutes.

Dr. Nanak referred to the government of Muhammad Yunus as a 'fascist government'. He said that Sheikh Hasina did not meet the President in person and gave a written resignation letter as per the constitution. This means he is still the legitimate Prime Minister of Bangladesh and the government of Muhammad Yunus is illegitimate.

According to him, the government is illegitimate. So they have no right to ban Chhatra League.

The presidium member of Awami League claimed that Awami League has never killed or oppressed anyone. People have been misled by putting the responsibility of killing on Sheikh Hasina by conspiracy. All the killings are the responsibility of the government and the coordinators.

Alleging that a fascist regime has been introduced in Bangladesh, he said that the situation in Bangladesh is now moving towards a failed state like Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Nanak said that the recent incident with the President is really unfortunate. His Excellency the President is the custodian of the state according to the Constitution, the disrespect shown to the President is an appalling trend.

Nanak commented that the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement came from 'kid gangs'. He said that militants including Hizb ut-Tahrir, Jamaat-Shibir had conspired to overthrow the elected government by shooting at the students during the movement. The main objective of this mastermind conspiracy was to wipe out the development and progress of this country. That has been proven in the last two and a half months.

Nanak said, Yunus government has increased the price of daily commodities of the people of the country, has failed to control law and order, more than three thousand policemen have been killed, the trial of which this illegal government has given indemnity or impunity to the perpetrators of genocide, isn't giving indemnity proof that they were the ones who committed genocide? Why should the indemnity be paid if the murder is not done? Payment of indemnity is direct evidence of genocide.

Nanak also called upon the Bengali nation for another united struggle like the liberation war of 1971 against this interim government.
