One more death due to dengue, 477 in hospital in one day

Another person died of dengue fever carried by the Aedes mosquito. Besides, 477 people have been admitted to the hospital with this fever in the last 24 hours.

This information was given in the dengue report sent by the Department of Health on Friday (October 25) evening.

A total of 269 people died of dengue this year. Besides, the total number of patients admitted to the hospital has reached 54 thousand 702.

According to the Department of Health, the last person who died of dengue was a resident of Dhaka North City Corporation.

According to the notification, 135 people have been admitted to Dhaka North City Corporation and 93 people have been admitted to Dhaka South City Corporation hospitals in the last 24 hours. Apart from this (excluding City Corporation), 114 people in Dhaka Division, 39 in Chittagong Division, 33 in Khulna Division, 12 in Mymensingh Division, 25 in Barisal Division, 5 in Rangpur, 19 in Rajshahi Division and two in Sylhet Division have been admitted to different hospitals.

Dengue outbreaks occur every year during the rainy season. From June 2023, the dengue situation became dire. Last year, 3 lakh 21 thousand 179 patients were admitted to the hospital and received treatment in the country. Among them, 100,800 people were treated in Dhaka and 211,171 people outside Dhaka.

Earlier in 2019, 1 lakh 1 thousand 354 people were infected with dengue nationwide. Around 300 people including doctors and health workers died at that time.

During the corona epidemic in 2020, dengue infection was not seen much, but in 2021, 28 thousand 429 people were infected with dengue fever across the country. 105 people died of dengue that year.

In addition, in 2022, a total of 62 thousand 382 people were admitted to the hospital with dengue. That year, 281 people died from the mosquito-borne disease.
