For this, when a frame of the viral video was reverse searched, a video of the official X handle of Munawar Faruqui was found. This video was posted on August 12, 2024, which contains an extended version of the viral video.
In the video on Munawwar Farooqui's account, he is apologizing to the Konkani community. During a show, he had made some objectionable remarks about Konkani society, due to which members of the community got angry. In the video, Munawwar is saying in his clarification, 'Some time ago there was a show in which there was interaction with the audience. Something came out about Konkan. I know that many Konkan people live in Tanuja. I have many friends, but according to people, that thing went a little out of context. They feel that I have said something bad about Konkan and made fun of them. No friends, that is not my intention at all. I would still like to say the same thing that came out of my mouth in conversation with the audience. I saw that some people were getting hurt and being a standup comedian and my job being to make people laugh, I don't want anyone to get hurt. So I would like to apologize wholeheartedly to the people.

It is clear from the video that this is a two month old case and Munavvar had apologized not to Lawrence Bishnoi but to the Konkan society. According to the report of The Indian Express, Delhi Police had received information about the attack on Munawwar Farooqui on 16 October. On September 13, the police got this information during the investigation in the murder case of the gym owner. During the investigation, the police reached the shooter arrested by the Special Task Force in Haryana. During interrogation, he revealed the attack on Farooqui. That shooter was hired by Rohit Godara of Lawrence's gang.
