MP News: Lokayukta's action against bribery of government officials and employees continues in Madhya Pradesh. Despite continuous action, bribery is not being controlled. Asking for bribe proved costly for Central GST (CGST) Superintendent Mukesh Tripathi.
Indore Lokayukta police caught Mukesh Tripathi red handed. The Superintendent of Central GST was taking a bribe of Rs 20 thousand. Lokayukta SP Rajesh Sahay said that the complaint was made by Rahul Birla, resident of Sanawad in Khargone district.
Rahul Birla's firm Lakshya Accounting Solutions does GST return and accounting work. He had told that CGST Division Khandwa Superintendent Mukesh Tripathi demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for restoring the suspended registration of a firm and correcting the mobile numbers and addresses of three firms. Complainant Rahul Birla complained about the matter to Indore Lokayukta SP. Lokayukta SP got the complaint verified.
Central GST superintendent caught red handed taking bribe
During verification, the complaint against the CGST Superintendent was found to be true. Lokayukta SP Rajesh Sahay said that a transaction of Rs 20 thousand was confirmed between the applicant and the accused. The Lokayukta police team laid a trap to catch the CGST Superintendent.
The team caught CGST Superintendent Mukesh Tripathi red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 20 thousand. A case has been registered against the accused under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. After being caught, the bribe taking officer started pleading. Lokayukta police did not listen. The bribed officer has been released after giving notice. Let us tell you that before this, two women employees had been caught taking bribe in Ujjain GST office. The action of Lokayukta police has once again created a stir among the corrupt officers and employees.
