According to news agency ANI, the withdrawal of Indian troops started from Friday. The soldiers were deployed where there was a situation of conflict between India and China since 2020.

India and China had agreed on patrolling on 21 October. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had said that there has been an agreement between India and China regarding the border patrolling system. This will bring back the situation before May 2020 (Galwan confrontation).

Patrolling can start within 10 days According to information received from the army, the soldiers have removed some temporary structures like tents and sheds, it will take some time to completely withdraw. Once returned, patrolling will begin. According to media reports, if everything goes well then patrolling can start within 10 days.

What is India-China agreement? China and India have agreed to restore the April 2020 status quo on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. This means that now the Chinese army will withdraw from those areas where it had encroached.

Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vikram Misri had said on Monday that a proposal has been prepared to resolve the issues arising after 2020 with patrolling in the border areas of India and China. Both countries will take steps on this.

Following a military exercise in April 2020, the Chinese Army had encroached on at least 6 areas in eastern Ladakh, but two years later, China's PLA had retreated from 4 places. There was no agreement regarding patrolling at the friction points of Daulat Beg Oldi and Demchok and the Indian Army was being stopped in many areas.

Modi had emphasized on the solution of the border dispute 2 days ago, bilateral talks took place between PM Narendra Modi and the President of China on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit. In this, India had emphasized on properly resolving the disputes and differences between the two countries. PM Modi had said that peace should not be disturbed on the border under any circumstances. He had said that stable and friendly relations will have a positive impact on other issues as well.

Now what next… According to reports, mutual consent patrolling can be started at all those 63 points of LAC. This includes resumption of patrolling up to Finger 8 on the northern end of Pangong Tso, where the Indian Army was not able to go up to Finger 4.

Indian soldiers will not even stop the Chinese patrolling team in this area. To avoid face-to-face confrontation, both the armies will inform each other in advance about the date and time of their patrolling. Its objective will be to ensure that there is no clash and violence between the soldiers.
