Gepta's three accused
Faridpur: In Faridpur, an easybike rider was robbed after he was strangled to death.
On receiving information, the police recovered the body from a sugarcane field in Kosha Gopalpur area of Faridpur Sadar Upazila on Friday (October 25) early night.
Kotayali Police conducted a raid on the incident and arrested the stolen easy bike and three persons involved in the murder.
Arrested are – Md. Sohel Mridha (35), Md. Chandu Sheikh (22) and Sagar Hossain (28). All of them are residents of different areas of Faridpur city.
The name of the dead easybike driver is Mosharraf Bepari. He is the son of deceased Chadek Bepari of Sovarampur area of Faridpur municipality. Mosharraf is the father of a son and a daughter. He was the only earner in the family. The relatives demanded punishment for those involved in the murder.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Shailen Chakma (promoted to the post of Superintendent of Police) confirmed this information to reporters in a press conference at the office of the Superintendent of Police, Faridpur on Friday afternoon.
It is known that Mosharraf Bepari left the house on Wednesday morning with an easy bike like every day in order to earn a living. As he did not return home even at night, the family members went out to look for him. Mosharraf's family members informed the Kotyali Police Station on Thursday morning after not finding them at night. In this incident, when the police raided various places, the police arrested three people for suspicious behavior. Later, when they were interrogated, they confessed to killing Musharraf. According to the information given by them, the police recovered the body of Musharraf from a field in Kosha Gopalpur area of Kanaipur Union of Faridpur Sadar Upazila in the early hours of Friday (October 25).
Fahim Faisal, sub-inspector of Faridpur Kotyali police station, said that the body was recovered and sent to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem. Three persons involved in the murder have been arrested.
