There is a street in this Machharhatta Mandi, whose name is Machharhatta Gali but it is famous by the name of Maury Gali. There are more than 200 shops in this street and on the occasion of Diwali, this entire street is filled with home decoration items or puja items, idol decoration items, colorful decoration items or rangoli decorating items. All these items are displayed in the shops. Customers also reach this street in large numbers. The special thing is that not only Diwali, this street remains decorated like this in all the Hindu festivals. Now after the end of Diwali, this street will be decorated for Chhath items from the second day itself.

Before Diwali, this street was decorated for Dussehra items. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, this street gets decorated with Rakhi. During the festival of Holi, this street is decorated with Pichkari and colors and all the items related to Holi, while on 26 January and 15 August, items related to the tricolor are decorated. This street is a complete wholesale market and shopkeepers from all over Bihar come to this street. Overall, this street can also be considered as a festival street. When there are no festivals, this entire street is filled with wedding decorations.

The biggest thing is that 75% of the goods found in this street are made by the local people of this street. Most of the artisans making mauri for weddings used to live in this street and even today the sale of mauri is highest in this street. People from all over Bihar buy the mauri made here. Local shopkeeper Mahesh Kumar told that there has been a change with time. Apart from Maurya, crowns of all the goddess idols are made in this street, which are very attractive and people buy them from here and take them away. Also, now people have started making things to decorate all the festivals or for puja here. Raw materials are imported from outside and prepared here.

He told that earlier the entire street was full of goods made by the artisans here, but gradually the artisans are disappearing and some goods also come from outside. Shopkeeper Manoj Kumar said that our ancestors had a shop in this street. Whatever shops are there are very old and belong to the local people, who used to have their own industries and still have them but there has been some decline. The shop remains the same, but the goods keep changing according to festivals and weddings. There is not a single permanent shop of any kind in this street.
