59 SIK Shokaj training in Sarada

Personal Correspondent: 59 cadet sub-inspectors (SIs) undergoing training at the police academy in Sarda, Rajshahi have been bereaved.

Bereavement notices were issued to them on Monday and Thursday (October 24). All those SIs were training in the 40th Cadet-2023 batch.

Police Academy Principal (Additional IGP) Masudur Rahman Bhuna confirmed the matter.

According to police academy sources, 252 out of 704 trainees of that batch were recently chastised due to ruckus over breakfast in the training ground. As the answer was not satisfactory, they were relieved from the job. This time, at least 59 SIs were chastised for not following discipline in the training hall.

Sources also said that on October 21, 10 SIs of that batch were bereaved in the second round. Then on October 24, in the third phase, 49 more people were mourned. They have been asked to respond within three days. Superintendent of Police (Admin and Logistics) on behalf of the Principal of the Police Academy. Tariq bin Rashid signed the show cause notice.

A show-cause notice issued to a training SI on October 24 said that on August 21, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm, there was a class of cadet SIs training on various important sections of the law at Chemni Memorial Hall. During the training, four instructors of the inspector rank found that the SI had created chaos by sitting haphazardly without discipline while sitting on the seat. A trainer repeatedly asked him to sit with discipline, but he continued to disobey and ignore the instructions to sit.

Police Academy Principal (Additional IGP) Masudur Rahman Bhuna said, 'Mourning is given for various reasons. It's routine.'
