'Students must be united to protect the freedom gained by sacrifice'

Advisor to BNP Chairperson and UK BNP President MA Malek commented that we have to be united to protect the freedom that has come through the sacrifice of the students' blood.

On Monday (October 14), he said these things at a discussion meeting organized by 'MA Malek's Homecoming Organizing Committee' on the occasion of MA Malek's homecoming after 17 years at the Jatiya Press Club's Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall.

MA Malek said, I am happy to come to independent Bangladesh today. This freedom came through the sacrifice of martyrs. We have to be united to protect the freedom that has come through the sacrifice of the students' blood. Only political parties alone cannot protect this freedom. The vast people of the country must be united.

He said, democracy is being practiced in Europe and the United States today. Even in neighboring India, democracy is being practiced. But they (India) again promote dictatorship and dictatorial government in our country. They are part of a conspiracy to suppress us. We struggled against their conspiracy. People of Bangladesh have repeatedly struggled for freedom and democracy. We cannot be suppressed.

Malek said, Sheikh Hasina brutally killed BNP leaders and activists. More than 600 activists have gone missing. They have not been found yet. Mirror artisans are out of touch. They should be brought to justice. The accomplices of the fascism government must be brought to justice.

UK BNP president said, our leaders and activists have to give a tough test in the anti-fascist movement. Under the guidance of the patriot Tariq Rahman, the leaders and activists fought 17 years without compromise against fascism. Our guardian Khaleda Zia suffered indescribable torture while fighting for democracy. These histories should be highlighted.

BNP chairperson's advisory council member Rushdieer Luna, BNP co-editor Nilufar Chowdhury Moni, educationist Dr. also spoke at the meeting. Fardin Islam, Human Rights Association Chairman Manjur Hossain Isa and others.
