Principal of Bangladesh Sweden Polytechnic Institute (BSPI) located in Kaptai Upazila of Rangamati, Abdul Matin Howladar has resigned.
He resigned on Wednesday (21 August) afternoon in the face of student protests demanding justice for sexual harassment.
Earlier, for the last two days, the students of the institution boycotted the classes and protested demanding the resignation of Ejabur Alam, Junior Instructor of the Wood Department, accusing a 52 batch student of sexual harassment.
The principal of the institution, Abdul Matin Hawladar, said that in a notification signed by the Director of Technical Education Board (PIW) AYM Ziauddin Al Mamun, the accused teacher Ejabur Alam has been withdrawn from BSPI and attached to the Technical Education Board.
