Murder case against 135 people including Sheikh Hasina-Kader in Gazipur

Cases have been filed against 135 people, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, in connection with the death of a youth named Noor Alam (22) during the anti-discrimination student movement in Gazipur. Besides, another 100-130 people have been made anonymous accused.

On Tuesday (August 20) night, Nur Alam's father Md. Amir Ali filed the case at Gazipur Metropolitan Basan Police Station as the plaintiff.

The deceased Noor Alam's house is in Mollapara Madhya Kumarpur area of ​​Kurigram Sadar. Along with his family, he lives in Telipara area of ​​Ward No. 18 of Basan police station of Gazipur city.

The notable accused in the case are- Former Minister of Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, Former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Former Member of Parliament Simin Hossain Rimi, Meher Afroz Chumki, Rumana Ali Tusi, President of Gazipur Metropolitan Awami League Azmat Ullah Khan, Former Acting Officer of Gazipur City Corporation. Mayor Asadur Rahman alias Kiran, metropolitan Awami League leader Matiur Rahman and others.

The plaintiff mentioned in the case – Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and 6 others armed with indigenous weapons and attacked the agitating students standing in the street in front of the Honeymoon restaurant on the Dhaka-Mymensingh road on the morning of July 20. Killing punches, beating with sticks and iron rods and cutting with sharp weapons caused bloody injuries to about 25-30 protestors including Khorshed Alam Rashid with intent to kill. At one point, Azmat Ullah Khan, the president of the metropolitan Awami League and former acting mayor Asadur Rahman, were present in person and under their orders and with their direct support, the named and unknown accused of Ejahar, who had illegal weapons, started shooting to kill the students. At that time, Noor Alam (22), who participated in the movement, was shot dead by them.
