All preparations have begun to take BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to London for better treatment. His family and doctors are constantly preparing for this. Already, the renewed Machine Readable Passport (MRP) has been handed over to Khaleda Zia at the beginning of last August.

According to doctors' sources, Khaleda Zia is being taken abroad as per the decision of the medical board for better treatment. His next treatment will begin in London.

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare when her physical condition deteriorated on July 7. After that, he returned to his residence on the evening of August 21. Before that, he returned home on January 11 after being treated in the hospital for 156 days.
In 2018, Khaleda Zia suffered from various physical complications after being sentenced and imprisoned in the ACC case. Later he was allowed to stay at home on special consideration. The 78-year-old former prime minister has been suffering from arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney and liver cirrhosis for a long time. He has already taken several rounds of hospital treatment.
During the previous Awami League government, Khaleda Zia was repeatedly sent letters and calls to go abroad, but the former government did not accept it. The family appealed to the government several times, but permission was not granted.
In such a situation, on October 27, 2023, three expert doctors were brought from the United States and operated on the blood vessels of the BNP leader at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
Officials of BNP mentioned that doctors are making all kinds of preparations keeping in mind whether Khaleda Zia has any physical problems while traveling by plane. The party leaders are carrying out activities by sharing various responsibilities.
Experts are looking into the possibility of Khaleda Zia traveling in an air ambulance or in a medical equipment-laden cabin on an advanced plane. Begum Zia will prepare for the trip after the flight related activities are over.
On Sunday (October 13) around 8:30 pm, an important official of the Chairperson's office told the Bangla Tribune that no instructions have come from the doctors yet. However, Sharmila Rahman, wife of Begum Zia's younger son late Arafat Rahman Koko, is at Dhaka residence. He came to Dhaka last September.
When asked, BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan told Bangla Tribune, 'The mother of democracy, BNP chairperson Desnetrei Begum Khaleda Zia will recover – this prayer and hope is constantly working in all of us. Now this is what the party leaders, followers, fans and countrymen always pray to Allah.'
