Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, the humanity, democracy and people's will and hopes of Bangladesh were slaughtered by the logi-baitha rampage on October 28, 2006. Bangladesh really lost its way that day. Jamaat did not agree to hand over the country's independence and sovereignty to anyone.
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the Rukon (members) conference of Dhaka Metropolitan North Jamaat at the China Friendship Conference Center in the capital on Sunday (October 13) morning.
Jamaat's Amir said, 'They (Awami League) came to power in 2009 through backdoor elections through conspiracy. Now no one dares to take their names. Their party (Awami League) who do, they also don't want to take that name. Why do we oppressed people take their names?'
He said, 'They have a history of banning themselves. When they established Bakshal they banned all political parties including their party. And now with the help of Allah, the people have banned their party.'
Dr. Shafikur said, 'They ruled the country with power for 15 and a half years. After only 2 months of coming to power, they attacked the patriotic army and painfully killed 57 smart and patriotic, promising army officers.
He said, 'The initiative taken by the government to investigate the killing of army officers is to deceive the people, to hide the behind-the-scenes heroes, order givers, miscreants. Members of the media were puppets and scapegoats. Their number was not more than fifty.'
“He (Amir) wanted to know from a murderer – who are the heroes of this conspiracy?” In response, the killer said the name. According to him, that murderer became a patriot', he said.
Amir of Jamaat said, “The heroes and heroines behind the BDR murder have not yet received the dues of their crimes. They have to get this debt.'
He said, 'After the killing of BDR, they started attacking Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Because they knew that Jamaat did not agree to hand over the country's independence and sovereignty to anyone. Refused to sell and bowed to no injustice.'
He further said, therefore, they sent away the top leaders of the Jamaat, which was formed gradually, from the world through judicial murder. Currently the slogan of Rajpath is 'We Want Justice'. The slogan of Jamaat is also 'We want justice.'
