In a notification issued by the interim government, the Bangladesh Workers Party called the decision to cancel the National Day on March 7 as 'wrong' and said it was a departure from the history of Bangladesh's liberation war. The party hopes that the government will withdraw from this wrong decision.
This was said in a statement issued by the Politburo of the Workers' Party on Thursday (October 17).
The statement sent by Kamrul Ahsan, a member of the Politburo of the Workers' Party, said, 'Bangabandhu's historic March 7 speech at the Race Course in 1971 reflected the national aspirations of the people of East Pakistan for their liberation struggle. March 7 has become a part of history as a historic declaration of preparation for the liberation war.
It is said that the interim government does not have the power to change such an important day with the stroke of a pen.
According to the Workers Party, March 7 set the historical context for the birth of the land called Bangladesh and the creation of a nation state. Those who try to change the evidence of history will be accused by history.
