The Election Commission has issued notification for nomination for the elections to be held on November 20 on 288 seats in Maharashtra and 38 seats in Jharkhand in the second phase. According to the notification, nominations can be filed till October 29. The nomination papers will be scrutinized on October 30. Names can be withdrawn till November 1 in Jharkhand and till November 4 in Maharashtra. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.
Voting will be held in Maharashtra in a single phase on November 20. A total of 9.3 crore voters will elect their representatives on 288 seats in Maharashtra. Of these, there are 1.85 crore youth voters. 11,800 polling stations have been set up in the state, where voters will exercise their franchise. 2.60 crore voters will exercise their franchise on 38 seats of Jharkhand Assembly.
Of these, more than 11 lakh voters will be first time voters. Here, voting will be held from 7 am to 4 pm at two polling stations number 25 and 26 of the sensitive Silli Assembly. Voting will be held from 7 am to 5 pm at the remaining 277 polling stations.
