Arab FinanceLieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Executive Authority for Industrial and Mining Projects of the Ministry of Industry and the Upper Egypt Development Authority, with the aim of the agency providing all engineering, advisory and supervisory services for Upper Egypt Development Authority projects, according to statement cabinet.
During the signing activities, the Minister stressed the Ministry’s keenness to activate the role of the executive body for industrial and mining projects in line with the requirements and needs of the Egyptian industry, as it is one of the most important bodies affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and concerned with implementing any industrial projects carried out by the Ministry, especially establishing facilities up to the head of each industrial zone.
Which falls under the jurisdiction of the Industrial Development Authority and is handed over to the authorities that own the region, then manages and undertakes its maintenance, in accordance with international standards in this regard, stressing the importance of concerted efforts made by various bodies to achieve the 2030 sustainable development goals, especially in Upper Egypt, especially since the governorates of Upper Egypt enjoy the development components that make It is a promising and attractive area for investment.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport indicated that the role of the agency within the framework of the cooperation protocol is focused on conducting inspections, studies, designs, preparing tender documents for the projects of the Upper Egypt Development Authority, and carrying out the work assigned to it by the authority, which includes surveying work and field studies, and supervising and following up on implementation and the timetable. For project stages.
During the meeting, the Minister also directed the head of the Executive Authority for Industrial and Mining Projects to reshape the administrative structure of the agency and enhance human capabilities in order to be consistent with the role assigned to the agency, whether in establishing or attaching factories, workshops, hangars, and roads.
For his part, Major General Sherif Saleh, Chairman of the Upper Egypt Development Authority, said that the Authority, since its establishment by Law 157 in 2018, has focused its efforts, investments and projects on the governorates of Upper Egypt to improve the services provided to citizens, exploit competitive advantages, provide job opportunities for the people of Upper Egypt, and achieve a decent life for citizens, as the Authority has implemented approximately 35 A project in the governorates of Upper Egypt (Fayoum – Beni Suef – Minya – Assiut – Sohag – Qena – Luxor – Aswan – New Valley – Red Sea). He also expressed his welcome for the fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, represented by the Executive Body for Industrial and Mining Projects, to implement development projects in the governorates of Upper Egypt.
